In an age now where the superhero seems to be prevalent in pop culture it's possible maybe I'm showing my age and being nostalgic for those kinds of quirks and ticks and vulnerabilities but again I'd rather feel that I have the same agency and the same type of access to the truth that a Colombo has even though I may too go off on a tangent on Betty Davis or Judy Holliday. Sometimes the detectives have such massive flaws that we're almost secretly hoping they could hold it together yeah. Raymond Chandler is kind of a mess he's always he runs entirely on coffee he never gets any sleep he just sits in his apartment doing chess puzzles by himself That's his idea of a good evening
