How Do You Know if You've Been in a Toxic Relationship?

Caleb Greene says the language we use to describe abusive relationships and cults is different, but so much of the influence is the same. "I'm gonna lay down my ideas of the world for yours and take them on as my own," he writes in his next book. In a toxic relationship, you find yourself defecting from your systems of support by dressing differently or mirroring how they speak. You end up sort of self justifying so much in order to stay because you were promised a certain future that wasn't going to happen.
