The Importance of Identity in the Workplace

One of the things that I think can impact, as you mentioned, how someone responds to a stimulus is when their identity is really interlinked with the job. So if we look at that circle of what you're doing, how do you connect maybe rightly or wrongly your identity with the work that they do? It's natural that you would, but you are not your thoughts, and you are not what you do. You are the essential quality that has always been you in everything you do. And once you get that sense of orientation, you suddenly go, and I'm not what I do, and you start to find a sense of power in who you really are.
