What's the Point of Communication?

i wouldn't say what you're doing is wrong. I think it's like, is the point of communication, right? As we just make sure we're kind of on the same page. You don't actually need to teach him anything. He already understands it. You just need to bring his understanding to the urface. And sometimes the way that we communicate with our kids results in denial or defensiveness. When you say something that causes him to kind of like pull back and put up a wall, then there's not going to be understanding. Does that make sense?
