There are so many different types of maps that one can make and designers use many different types to solve different types of problems. Part two of my book is really a general process for mapping at a high level. The first thing you need to do is look at the point of view because these maps, and I think sometimes this is where there's a mismatch of expectation between the map maker, the person doing the journey mapping or the experience mapping and the stakeholder. You need to frame it in the right way by getting a point of view first. But then you also need to scope it. So where does an experience begin or end?
