If you don't do two or three investor up dates in a row, that is when investors get worried. If the previous investors are informed and jazzed up, it makes it really easy for another rich person to invest money in your company. An immature founder will think, oh my god, they're micro managing me. A lot of investors don't even read the updates, or they might scan them.
