Kerry Nichols was kidnapped in 1984 and shot by two men. She survived for nearly four hours on Jim's sleeping bag before being airlifted to a hospital. Her kidnappers, Don and Denny Nichols, were later found hiding out in the low country. They had stolen supplies from ranger stations but police couldn't find them until five months later.
