The U.S. Government's Decision to Supply Ukraine With Cluster Munitions
On Friday, the Biden administration will announce that they will be supplying Ukraine with highly controversial cluster munitions. This is a move that is opposed by human rights groups. Cluster munitions were actually banned back in 2008 by over 120 countries, though notably those do not include the United States or Russia. They have led to tens of thousands of civilian deaths around the world, along with killing several U.S. service members.
