Until this point in the story, most of what had happened to kira had happened on line between new york and london. But now the story shifts to somewhere more tangible. Bobby and kirat are in the same city, seemingly only a short car ride away from each other. And yet, like that greek myth where a man is condemned to spend eter ty right next to a tree whose delicious fruit he can almost touch, but not quite, kirat finds that however close bobby gets, he always ultimately slips through her fingers.
