In 1564 Ivan the Terrible abdicated and said he was going into exile. He wrote an open letter to the people of moscow, blaming them for his problems. But at the same time as doing that, he also had a hit-list of those who annoyed him. The list included mihail petrovitch repnin whom ivan executed in 15 64. It is not clear whether this was on purpose or by accident.
