Tribal politics is a really pernicious thing, particularly when you're dealing with something called that are right about the book called aggressive defeniveness. Democrats need to do a much better job in my eyes of reaching out to voters in rural areas and in red states. The incentive structures right now are really out of line with our best traditions and the way that liberal democracy functions best.
