You Know, You Can Ask for Pardons, Fine?
The mere fact of requesting a pardon, to me, is not self in admission of guilt. It doesn't necessarily mean that you believe you're guilty. What it really means is you're worried that the government will pursue you criminally. The idea that these folks in particular were going to king to have it in for them, i think, was just not really one worth entertaining seriously.
