Is It Normal Developmental Plasticity That Leads to Pathology?

We have a more nuanced understanding of some of the mechanisms, and we see that there is complexity involved in some of those processes. For instance, individuals who experience nutritional stress early life are preferentially putting fat into a depot that's very rapidly mobilizable later in life. Suggests that there might be an adapted process.
