The Justice Department's Legitimizing Propaganda for Trump's Lies

Jeffrey Clark, aka co-conspirator four, drafted a letter addressed to Georgia state election officials falsely claiming that the Justice Department had found evidence of voter fraud. This was ultimately an elaborate effort not only to weaponize lies, but to provide official corroboration for those lies through the courts and the Justice Dept., says Julian Zelizer. The idea behind manipulating these institutions was to make the coup attempt look in the end as though it was a very cool, very legal democratic process, he adds.
