The idea of the persistent cloud object is a very powerful and useful idea that is something that we've even now emulated in in so-called local objects locally on your machine. There are yet different ideas that one invents for things like blockchain and for autonomous computations happening sort of autonomous computational contracts being run but they're all interesting to look at.
