Did Africans Own Slavery?

Being of african descent did not automatically make you a slave. Slavery was legal in africa, just like it was here. Many slaves were freed by their owners during the revolutionary war. Some free individuals had been born free because their parents were free. The idea that there was anything wrong with slavery was just catching on when harriet tubman grew up.
