The spirit of god led christ into the wilderness to be tempted. He wasn't there because he was lured there by the evil one. This was part of the redemptive script. And so what's necessary is that god would send jesus as the second atam. Jesus now faces the same tempter, and he's doing that for us. So that grace is operating on our behalf in this moment.
