"It was an unbelievable experience. Every day, something interesting happened either on the ice or off the ice," Alken says of his time in Russia. "I can remember once running a behind the rink, I used to run with these dogs because I used to feed the dogs all the time." He adds: "We just made it absolutely fascinating".
