The Ghosted Hits of the Analog Charts
Barry Sadler's Ballad of the Green B'reys was a legitimately big hit in 1966. Still, it's weird that 1966 has two official Billboard Year-end number one songs. It suggests that there was a fudge factor on the charts back in those pre-computerized times.
