In the late 70s when I completed my doctorate, I said, I don't want to be an academic. In the early 90s, like about 20, 15, 18 years later, I started being interested in looking at teaching opportunities. So his notion of nature in the early work was really very much representative of that enlightenment thought. And I think he also came to think about that more critically.
