Is It Easier to Forget That I Am Black?
Robin: It can be very easy to forget my blackness. And so i really feel like i have to bring it forward and centre it as much as possible. My proximity to whiteness is minimal, but my depth of blackness is astronomical - sut it's the whole of who i am. For white listeners, we're going to have to just not take it personal. It's about us an it's not about us. We're going to be on the receiving end of some strong emotions that have been suppressed for a long time.
