The Promises of the Future
The text 11, 13 through 16 is laced with eschatological overtones. All these died in faith without receiving the promises that which was promised,. But having seen them, they welcomed them from a distance. In other words, they knew the promises were about the future. The people are looking with eyes of faith to the one who is to come.
