The ultimate goal here wasn't just to find a new way to avoid T cell exhaustion or to make a more potent Carti cell therapy, but rather to engineer a logic system into these cells. That's essentially making them smarter and enabling them with the ability to recognize and execute on multiple antigens. Compressively, the system appeared to have performed better in vivo than previous logic gated car platforms.
