Julian and the Neoplatonics
I have a mixed relationship with Julian. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but he was too... I think he suffered from ... There's a term for converts. And someone converts to a religion that become very fanatical or... He wasn't the same page as the rest of society, it seems like. So, I don't really put him up on a pedestal like other pagans usually do. It caused a lot of fear in people. When you read later history, you just see the specter of Julian haunting Greek writers and Greek Christian authors.
