Lydia Thorpe is no longer sitting in the Greens party room and is now sitting on the crossbench in the Senate. Daniel notes that Thorpe is not up for reelection until 2028 despite being elected as a Green with a majority of her votes being for the party and not the candidate. Do you think parliament should consider changes to senatorial terms to discourage these sorts of defections? I can understand why people are annoyed that it happens but you can't do much about it without changing the entire system, Paul says.
