There have been four interest rate hikes this year affecting black employment today. The amount of job gains is decreasing in recent months, but it's still incredibly strong compared to even the pre-pandemic status quo. There has to be a conversation at the policy level about whether there is any other tool that could control inflation besides rate hikes.

The Federal Reserve knows raising interest rates disproportionately hurts Black people. It just doesn’t have any better tools, says the Minneapolis Fed’s Neel Kashkari.
