Are You a Leader or a Manager?

There must be a time wher you start thinking about what's the best way to grow. Is it towars leadership positions, or is it a completely horizontal shift in different area? So do you have examples where people have struggled with us? I no, interms of had some one asked the questioni should i've done reasonably well at being a soffer engineer. And now i'd like to figure if i should become a manager, or should i do something else? Because i do want to keep making progress.
