The practice of stoicism through the stoic disciplines empowers the procopton to remain tranquil and act in an excellent manner. Our inner synodil provides a base of operation for us to engage in the world as a true cosmopolitan by drawing all of humanity and the cosmos itself into our circle of affinity. Without it, there is no life that is not full of care and anxiety. To fashion a man who can genuinely be called a man, a stronger fate is needed. For him, the way will not be flat. He must go up and down. He must guide his vessel on a stormy sea. He must hold his course against fortune.
