The only monkeys album to be entirely made by the four members who wrote every song and played every instrument without any outside assistance at all talk quit again in 2001 and the remaining duo split up soon after but they reformed in 2011 for a 45th anniversary tour where they gave some of the greatest performances of their career performing sets that included the whole head album. When david jones died suddenly in 2012 it seemed like it might be the end of the monkeys but then rather remarkably michael nesmith decided to rejoin the band and the group toured as a trio for a few years both nesmith and torque started having health problems though and also seem to have not got on with each other.
