The risk of something called primary nonfunction, which is literally when you put the graft in and it just doesn't work, begins to increase. The tiniest organs from small, small infants, the risk is actually a little bit higher. As livers get older and older, then the risk of primary nonfunction goes up. There's only a certain amount of time that the liver can survive this.
