In 2006 there was a research article that was published in a very reputable journal by a scientist Lesnar. And essentially what had happened was he made a mistake as far as his presentation of the images that depicted amyloid deposition in the brain. He basically kind of copy pasted some of the imaging and produced it as evidence for amyloid being the reason why people tend to have Alzheimer's disease. That particular theory was based on flawed models, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all Our understanding of amyloid disease amyloid in Alzheimer's disease is flawed.
