Algaritms and Human Decisions Support Tools
Decisions about humans should be made not at arm's length, but close up by humans. Algaritms are now being used to predict convicts likelihood of reoffending and therefore whether they get parole or not. The date of the algaritm is using is the previous behaviour of people like this, and not the current behaviour of the individual that's being judged. So effectively, what kind of putting people under the command of a purely statistical construct? I don't think we should move to a world where algorithms don't exist or are not used. Let's make sure for high stakes decisions they're made by human beings.
