The Case of Eli Lilly

North America Free Trade Agreement NAFTA was entered into force in 1994. Countries have entered into treaties with one another to protect investors that come from the other countries. So if I'm country A and you're country B, my investors who are doing investment in Europe, they get the right to take the government to arbitration outside country B If they have any disputes over the infringements of their investments. That's sort of also the legal foundation for the Eli Lilly case that I talk about in the book.
