The State of the Literature on Training Working Memory

I'm curious what your view is on the state of the literature on training working memory. In particular we can directly train working memory in a lab environment but can we then experience far transfer to other real world tasks in our daily lives? What's your take on this literature? I think the evidence now from a substantial number of studies is that it is possible, given appropriate training, to transfer to broadly similar tasks. Typically the borifery light tasks but the transfer more generally tends to be absent all week.
