The west broadly prosecuted the court war. Both successes and mistakes only look obvious in retrospect. It is a mistake to think that you can be strong everywhere, or push back against your opponent's influence everywhere. The other mistake, i guess, which is maybe a little bit less commonly evoked, is don't make the mistake of thinking that this is going to be easy.
