The Evolution of Trees

Most fruits and berries are not descended from a common fruit or berry ancestor. Avocado and cinnamon are from fairly closely related tree species. It's possible that the last common ancestor between an upland peach was not even a tree. The Seattle neighborhood of Magnolia is misnamed after the local majoronetry, which Europeans confused with these similar-looking magnolia.
