The Long Decline or the Long Emergency?

I think perhaps it's just the word collapse itself. Like to me, collapse implies that it's going to be so rapid. So I guess sometimes I wish we didn't call it collapse. We called it an erosion or a decay. It could happen very quickly. When you talk about how rapidly crises can happen, supply chains can go. In coronavirus, we saw one day we had toilet paper the next day we didn't. Our families are starving in a couple of decades and that's a big deal.
