The History of Pakistan
The first Islamic forces came to the region we now know of as Pakistan during the Caliphate of al-Mār ibn al-Hatab in the year 23ah which roughly corresponds to the year 660 CE. With the exception of Bangladesh this region was the only part of the Indian subcontinent that had a Muslim majority. One of the more important Muslim conquerors to come through the region was a man named Mahmud of Ghazni who ruled over it from 998 to 1030 CE.
