The Kennedy Compound
The Kennedy compound conjures up a fortress-like environment. The Kennedys, though actual humans who lived in the 20th century to me, were historical figures. Jack and Bobby both died before I was born and therefore never part of my living memory. It is hard for us to realize that the events of one's own lifetime are to a younger person in the realm of the historical.
