Learning the Alphabet as a Child
When you are first learning about the alphabet, it took up a large amount of space. But after a while, you're just so used to what these symbols are that they take up tiny to almost zero space in your working memory. This is one of the things that contributes to you being a more and more fluent reader as an child. Now if you're trying to write a creative story but you still don't know the alphabet very well, then there just isn't enough space in your thinking for you to be able to do that.
