I don't think it's safe to assume that the Elm compiler would have gotten good in the ways that it did. Evan had worked at like Google before, so he has some experience in that from that perspective. And I feel very fortunate that I've had a couple of people get interested in getting involved in the project who are much better at that stuff than I am.
