The Germans and the Quakers in the Midwest

After elnorte an, new france, and yankedom and tidewater were founded, came the earliest and largest non english speaking european group, the germans. They were in between the liberal yankees and the more conservative tidewawater settlers. Seventeenth and eighteenth century german colonists were fleeing wars and hierarchical ties that they felt deprive them of land and autonomy. And so these two different groups, the germos and the quakers, formed a moderate nation that, above all, wanted to be left alone.
