The Romanticism of the Enlightenment
I find the romantics to be so inspiring. They really speak to my Jewish identity as somebody who doesn't just want to be folded into the European Enlightenment project and have my particularism done away with. Those very same romantics were the founding theorists of kind of modern nationalism with anti-Semitism as the go-to scapegoat that basically culminated in the Holocaust.
