The Role of Positive Emotions in Emotional Empowerment
The positive emotions broaden your ability conceptualize, and they inspire you to build no resources and new opportunities for yourself. And that the idea of emotional emancipation, to circle back around, is this idea that the negative emotions that you have are kind of holding you in chains. They're enslaving you; what i want to do is help free you from that. The process of that, at least, my thinking was influenced a lot by frederick's broaden and build model.

Chris is an associate professor, licensed clinical psychologist, and certified rehabilitation counselor. His scholarship focuses on motivational interviewing (MI) and interpersonal processes in mental health/substance abuse treatment. He has focused on expanding MI theory and practice to a broader focus than originally conceived as well as developing MI group psychotherapy. He is the lead author on the MI in Groups book that is part of the official Guilford Press series on MI. His practice and training has included outpatient, inpatient and residential treatment of individuals and groups with a variety of health, mental health and addiction problems.
