The Power of a Period Film

I think it's more about the script and the mood you're trying to create than the period you set the film in. It didn't feel like a period film, which was its strength because it felt like this story was kind of timeless. The characters came out of the story. It just happened to be set in a certain period. And how much prep time did you have on an education? Five weeks,. I was with Lone Shurfing, who's Danish. We worked closely together so that there was a sort of innocence of the 50s.
