I think we see right now a real crisis in the very thing i wrote my book about, which is the attempt to create global institutions to protect capitalism from disruptive challenges of democracy. For a while, it was working. People felt symbolically bought into a capitalist economy that was also paying out to them - rising home ownership, a rising per capital income. No one is willing to die for the w t o. And that's actually a big problem. The difficulty of the the international project that i am looking at is makes this problem especially stark, right?
