Is There a Conflict of Interest?
Vicks and the Boots' products say clinically proven on the box here. I'd love to get into what clinically proven means. Well, clinically proven will usually mean they've been tested in clinical trials. The Vicks' first defence has been tested in one small clinical trial in Italy. There is a bit of evidence, but it's weak evidence. In fact, I was involved as principal investigator in three of those trials. They did show benefit in shortening duration of symptoms and relieving some of the symptoms. These sprays are more AIDS rather than cures.
