What Is a Leaf?
The Roman alphabet derived from a version of Greek alphabet, derived from a Semitic alphabet. And then related to Hebrew alphabet. The names are things in the world whose first sound is the thing that's represented by the letter. So you have a leaf pretty soon. It doesn't mean a leaf anymore. It means all. That's a wonderful example.
