The Pros and Cons of the Santos Bill
Santos's Barossa project is a proposal to drill for gas a couple of hundred Ks off the coast of Darwin. Santos really needs it because it has very expensive liquefied natural gas facilities in Darwin that without Barossa, it worries that it might run out of gas. But aside from that it's fossil fuel expansion in general, but it's particularly dirty in particular. What they call the reservoir emissions, the amount of carbon dioxide that's in the gas deposit at Barossa is many times what's typical of Australian gas projects. So it's really dirty.
