Having Mercy on the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God
This is from eucharistic prayer. Have mercy on us all. We pray that with the blessed virgin mary, mother of god, with the blessed apostles and all saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life. And may praise and glorify you through your son, jesus christ. It would make any sense to pray to god for that we merit these things, unless our meriting these things were in god's hands, were god's gifts.
